Macclesfield trials club Yoomee round 4 report 12-08-06 Plattwood farm.
It was a dry Plattwood farm that welcomed the 69 riders to the final yoomee summer series evening trial of 2006.On the hard route Mark Reynolds took top spot and was the only rider to keep his score in single figures, no easy task with sections like number 9 with its large and slippery logs. In second place was Mark Atkinson on 12, third and doing enough to win the expert class in the series was Mr Yoomee himself John Hulme.
Another win to add to his 1st and 3rd place in earlier rounds was enough to give Chris Garlick first place in the Inter class, just beating Ben Miles and Ade Mellor. Best Youth on the night and overall was Will Emmott his score of 24 good enough for 4th overall on the night. Josh Fenwick was a little off the pace on the night but did enough to comfortly secure 2nd in the Yoomee championship.
Things were a little closer on the easy route, with rain expected the 50/50 route turned out a little easier than planned, but it still managed to take marks off every rider just!!!!!. Three riders lost a single dab - the top two in the 0/40 class Ade Bellis and Jeremy Hawker both lost 1 on the first lap of the tricky section 10 so they could not be separated. Both riders were awarded maximum points but Peter Hallam absent on the night took the overall series win. The third rider on a single dab was guest rider Toby Eyre who lost his single dab on the last lap on section 8 so Toby was actually the best rider on the middle route on the furthest travelled rule. Another absentee Kev Stannard took the 0/50 series win from winner on the night Henry Rosenthal. Twin shock and series winner was Jodi Henson who tied on scores with runner up Steve Garlick but took the win by the most 2nd placing rule. Andy Hallam had a good ride in the youth class just failing to keep his score in single figures - this win took him to second place in his class for the series just being beaten by Daniel Turnock. It was close in the novice championship with just 3 points separating eventual winner Pip Eardley from runner up Chris Allison with both being beaten on the night by Mark James.
On the easy route the adult series winner was Will Tyler who had three straight wins form three starts, with Les Savage just taking second place from fast improving Tom Booth in third. Probably the most notable series win went to young Micheal Vennard winning the yoomee trophy for best youth and still riding C class.
